Special Control Cables

There are several control cables that allow a single Pioneer DVD-V7400 or DVD-V7300D industrial DVD player to be controlled. They typically have one, two, or three pushbutton switches connected to a cable that is then plugged into the back of the Pioneer player. Each of these serves a different purpose, but most of them can be used to start playback of a DVD, and some can do much more complex things.

Some of these cables trigger what are known as "Stack Commands" in the player. Stack commands are a way of defining a series of commands in the player that can then be triggered by an outside event, such as a switch or a sensor. These stack commands can be a simple command, such as play a chapter or series of frames, or they can be much more complex sequences. For example, you might set a sequence to play chapter 1 through 3 then jump to title 2 and play frames 1 through 1000, then jump to title 3 and play chapter 5 in a loop until another button is pressed. The Pioneer user manual that comes with the player has a complete section on setting the stack commands.
